Standard 5: Assessment
The teacher uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, monitor learner progress, guide planning and instruction, and determine whether the outcomes described in content standards have been met. Rational: Assessment is a huge part of learning. Not only for the students but for me as well. Assessments are a way to collect data and understand where students need more support. An exit ticket after a math lesson can show me if the majority of the students understood the concept or if only a few did. From there I can better plan my future lessons. It can also help when creating groups. The data from assessments provide a lot of information about the students. |
